The Terror of Riltar
"It was like it came straight from a nightmare! Red eyes, skin pale and ashen, and I swear there was fresh blood on its lips! I couldn't even move, I swear by it! If not for…well, let's say those sellswords couldn't have chosen a better time to show up." - Victim of a vampire attack
More fearsome then the werebeasts, then the trolls, or the witches, the vampire stand as masters of the night. Capable of bending the minds of even the holiest of priests, summoning and commanding other beasts of the night, and possessing unparalleled strength, vampires are an absolute terror. Sometimes hiding in plain sight, a vampire can sway many minds to his whim, and feed off of the innocent. The rumors about what a vampire is capable of are by far the most varied, from some saying they can bend the very powers of night to others saying they are but evil wizards with sharp teeth.
What few detailed accounts there are of all collaborate that vampires feed on the blood of the living, that they do not leave a shadow, do not have a reflection, and shrink away from presented holy symbols of those who have great faith in it. Little else is known for sure, as those that encounter a vampire seldom recall the events, let alone live to tell about them.
