Spine of the World

"Impassible and impossible to navigate! That's vhat any sellsword with half brain vould tell you, but we dwarves know it better then anyone. The Spine is our home. And you are not velcomed." – Pavel, Forgemaster of Wanderer's Way

The Spine of the World is the largest mountain range in all of Ailoria. A ridiculously massive set of mountains that reside on the east of Riltar and keep it isolated for the rest of the continent, they are said to be impossible to navigate. Filled with all sorts of terrible mountain beasts, almost constantly being snowed upon, to travel the Spine is to invite death into one's life. It is said that giants reside along the mountains as well, keeping dominion over part of the mountain. However, this is also home to the dwarves. Just where they come from along the Spine none but the dwarves that have come from their home, their Motherland.

Though the Spines are no doubt treacherous, they are filled with very rich veins of ores, of steel, copper, gold, and silver, and platinum. Because of this, many mining companies strike out into the Spine to try and make their riches, often chartering dwarves as navigators and guides to guide them through the mountain maze. Rumors surround the mysterious mountains, but the most debated rumor is of the great series of tunnels that are said to exist beneath the Spine. That vast mountain caverns and underground tunnels said to be filled with strange life is said to live underneath the Spine, and many adventurer's have gone out to prove this claim.
